What to expect in our kids’ workshops:
The magic of the Creative Bubble
– Why kids love our workshops
Baking and decorating teach us valuable lessons—pay attention, be present, and embrace creativity. I’ve learned this over decades of baking, experimenting, and attending countless workshops. Absolutely nothing compares to the joy of sharing this experience with children.
Fondant is one of my favourite mediums—not for covering cakes, but for creating fun, intricate decorations. There’s something truly special about watching children immerse themselves in this process. My own granddaughter, who is usually full of energy, became calm and focused as she rolled, shaped, and painted her fondant creations. She was completely in the moment—in the Creative Bubble.
That’s the magic of our kids’ workshops. Children soften, roll, cut, shape, and refine their decorations, learning as they go. If something doesn’t work, fondant isn’t judgy—they simply start again!
I recently had a little guest who was hesitant to decorate because she was afraid of making a mistake. With encouragement from me and her peers, she embraced the experimenting, and contributed greatly to the fun and laughter. By the end, she was proudly adding decorations without hesitation.
In our workshops, kids do more than decorate—they learn valuable skills. They practice shapes, counting, measuring, and sharing. They interact, collaborate, and problem-solve. They listen, focus, and take pride in their creations. And they chat—oh, the conversations we hear at the bubble table!
For two to three hours, they are in a judgment-free zone, a space where creativity flows, and confidence grows. It’s more than just a class—it’s a place where kids can be in the moment, explore their imagination, and experience the joy of making something truly their own.
